The number of weddings has fallen to a 100 year low with fewer weddings than in any year since 1895.
A total of 232,990 couples got married in 2008, the lowest number since 1895, say the Office for National Statistics.
This is a drop of 1% in a year from 235,370 in 2007 and the marriage rate (the number of marriages per head of population) fell to its lowest level since records began in 1862.
But despite this Seeker Photography are seeing an increase in interest in our new iWed wedding photography service. Continuing on from our revolutionary approach to taking wedding photographs more than a decade ago (we were among the first photographers to introduce wedding photojournalism to the UK) our new service brings wedding photography into the digital age.
Seeing the way that so many industries (including music and movies) have moved away from physical products to downloads we decided that it was time to make as big a change in how you receive your shots as we made 10 years ago with how we took them.
Now friends and family can go online and download your wedding photos instantly, and not just proofs with a copyright notice across them – we’re talking about the full hi-res files suitable for printing themselves!
Steve Cook of Seeker Photography said “We have always looked for ways to stand out in the wedding market, not by gimmicks and fads but by constantly evolving the art of wedding photography and an attention to detail required by our couples. iWed is the logical next step in the progress of the industry and we feel it gives our clients a great service at realistic prices with no restrictions on how they use their images in the future.”
