We often get requests from people asking us to do their photographs for nothing, they’d be good for our portfolio or for publicity value.
I’ve just found this interview with Hollywood writer Harlan Ellison which put’s it much better and much more forcefully (he’s got a bit of a reputation for being abrasive and forthright) than I ever could.
WARNING – There is some strong language in this, but it is entertaining!
So whilst we often do things to help charities, please don’t be offended if we don’t think that taking photos of your kids/pets/car/garden/etc for nothing will be the big break we’re looking for.
By the way, this isn’t a moan, just a way of getting this highly amusing video onto our blog!

Linda Parkinson-Hardman - Interesting, we had a discussion around this very subject on the Mowgli group on Linkedin called “me and Bono (pro bono – should I tell?)” which created some ‘interesting’ comments to say the least. You could see them if you want at: http://linkd.in/e8UKGP if you happened to be a member of the group. It happens to all unfortunately at some point and you do have to find a way to say ‘no’ politely otherwise we’d all be living on fresh air
